Free live music returns to Hillsdale Shopping Center on Friday, Sept. 4, when the Rock the Block Concert Series opens a four-week run at North Block Plaza.
The outdoor shows run 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday in September, according to Patch, which first reported the lineup Monday, Aug. 31.
Admission is free.
Seating is first-come, first-served, and organizers recommend arriving early to the plaza at 60 31st Ave. in San Mateo.
Silicon Valley musician Mike Annuzzi, who has performed at BottleRock Napa and The Mountain Winery, kicks off the series Sept. 4. Los Angeles indie rock trio UFO UFO follows Sept. 11. The Sept. 18 performer has not yet been announced on Hillsdale's official site. The series closes Sept. 25 with a K-Pop DJ night.
"We're excited to welcome the community back for another season of Rock the Block," Hillsdale Shopping Center Marketing Director Milla Khano told Patch on Aug. 31.
Khano said the series is meant to draw families and friends to the shopping center on Friday evenings, giving them a chance to discover new artists while grabbing dinner at nearby restaurants.
The concerts take place at North Block Plaza, the outdoor section of the shopping center. The full schedule is listed on Hillsdale's event page.
