Aragon senior quarterback Isaiah Johnson threw four touchdown passes as the Dons rolled past Piedmont 40-14 on the road Friday, Sept. 18, pushing his season passing total past 1,000 yards.

Johnson finished 19-of-25 passing for 267 yards, according to a MaxPreps box score for the game. Aragon led 6-6 after the first quarter before pulling away with 14 points in the second, and the Dons outscored Piedmont 13-8 in the fourth to seal the win.

The victory was Aragon's largest margin of the season and its third straight on the road, improving the Dons to 3-1, according to a MaxPreps recap. Piedmont fell to 1-3, its loss ending a six-game winning streak. Over Aragon's three-game win streak, the Dons' defense has allowed an average of just 6.7 points per game, MaxPreps reported.

Sophomore running back Mikey Alvarado-Corzo anchored the ground game with 14 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown, while senior Nick Mazzola led all receivers with six catches for 105 yards and a touchdown, per the box score. Mazzola was named the game's offensive Player of the Game, Johnson earned overall Player of the Game honors, senior Isaac Martinez was recognized as the defensive standout, and Diego Mora was honored on special teams, according to MaxPreps.

Johnson has now completed 74 of 111 passes (66.7%) for 1,110 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions through four games this season, according to his MaxPreps season stats. He has also rushed for 121 yards on 32 carries, giving him 1,231 total yards and a 307.8-yard average per game.

Johnson has spread the ball around all season. Senior Everest Lavery has two receiving touchdowns on the year, and sophomore Ben Henderson leads the team with 98.3 receiving yards per game and four touchdown catches, according to Aragon's team stats page on MaxPreps. Junior Jaxson Sullivan has contributed on the ground and through the air, with five rushing touchdowns to go with 41 receiving yards per game. On defense, Martinez leads Aragon with 6.8 tackles per game, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.

Aragon's only loss this season came against rival San Mateo, 42-25, in the annual Battle of the Fleas rivalry game, according to an East Bay Times preview.

The Dons host Los Altos at 7 p.m. Friday in Week 5, per MaxPreps.
