A shoplifter was arrested at Hillsdale Shopping Center on July 23 after taking four pairs of Levi's 501 jeans worth a combined $290, according to San Mateo County police reports published by the San Mateo Daily Journal.
The theft was reported at 2:28 p.m. Thursday, July 23. At roughly $72.50 per pair, the jeans put the total just under California's $950 felony theft threshold.
That same afternoon in Foster City, officers arrested a person on Alma Lane at 5:21 p.m. on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and embezzling a rental vehicle. It was the most serious incident in the four-day blotter window.
Foster City: drugs and suspended licenses
Three additional arrests followed in Foster City over the July 25–26 weekend:
- Saturday, July 25, 8:38 a.m. — A driver was arrested on Bounty Boulevard for driving with a suspended license.
- Sunday, July 26, 3:23 p.m. — Another arrest on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, this time on Beach Park Boulevard.
- Sunday, July 26, 6:32 p.m. — A person was arrested on East Hillsdale Boulevard for being under the influence of drugs.
Combined with the Alma Lane case, Foster City accounted for four of the blotter's seven entries.
Half Moon Bay: warrant and DUI
In Half Moon Bay, police made two contacts over the same window:
- Friday, July 24, 11:01 a.m. — A person was taken into custody on the 500 block of Kelly Avenue on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
- Saturday, July 25, 10:28 p.m. — A person was arrested on suspicion of DUI on the 400 block of Beach Avenue.
No suspect names were released in any of the incidents. The blotter covers reports filed between Thursday, July 23, and Sunday, July 26.
