Four free Friday-night outdoor screenings are coming to four different San Mateo neighborhoods in September, and the city has revealed exactly which films will play where.
The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department published the complete Movies in the Park schedule on its website Wednesday, July 22. Each week features a different park and a different film from the 2025 theatrical season. Screenings begin at dusk, approximately 7:30 to 7:45 p.m.
Here's the full lineup:
- Friday, Sept. 4 — "Zootopia 2" at Central Park (Fitzgerald Field), 50 E. 5th Ave.
- Friday, Sept. 11 — "How To Train Your Dragon" at Shoreview Park (Shoreview Field), 950 Ocean View Ave.
- Friday, Sept. 18 — "Lilo & Stitch" at Laurie Meadows Park, 111 Laurie Meadows Drive
- Friday, Sept. 25 — "Wicked: For Good" at Beresford Park, 2720 Alameda de las Pulgas
All screenings are free and open to the public. No ticket or registration is required. The city asks attendees to bring a blanket and a low-back chair so viewers behind can see the screen. Concession sales will be available, though vendor details have not been finalized.
The four parks span the city, giving residents in different neighborhoods a screening within walking or biking distance at least once during the series.
