San Mateo County voters will have 50 vote centers to choose from Monday, Nov. 2, the last day of early voting before the Nov. 3 general election.
The county advertises general hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Nov. 2. Voters should check individual locations in the county’s vote center lookup for opening hours. On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, centers operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The expansion follows a phased rollout. Three centers in Redwood City, San Mateo and South San Francisco opened Oct. 5.
Seven more opened Oct. 24 in Burlingame, Daly City, East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Redwood City and San Carlos, according to the county elections office.
Additional four-day centers are scheduled to open Saturday, Oct. 31. Four two-day pop-up centers open Nov. 2, according to the county’s location flyer.
County voters can use any open vote center to vote in person, return a completed mail ballot, request a replacement ballot or register to vote. Centers also provide accessible voting equipment and multilingual assistance.

Ballot deadlines
The county began its general ballot mailing in early October. Ballots for approximately 5,500 military and overseas voters were mailed in September, according to its Oct. 5 announcement.
The deadline to request a replacement ballot delivered by mail was Oct. 27. Replacement requests must now be made in person at a vote center, either by the voter or an authorized representative with the required signed form, according to the elections office.
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by the county no later than Nov. 10. The county recommends requesting a hand-postmark at a post office counter when mailing close to Election Day.
Voters can also return ballots at a vote center or one of 57 official drop boxes by 8 p.m. Nov. 3. Indoor drop boxes are accessible during the host building’s operating hours.
Eligible voters who missed the Oct. 19 registration deadline can still register and vote at any open vote center through 8 p.m. Election Day using conditional voter registration. Election officials verify eligibility before counting those ballots.
