Rise Woodfire, the family-owned restaurant at 2 North B Street, is adding a weekend brunch and coffee bar to its Downtown San Mateo location.
The restaurant's new "Rise & Shine" brunch menu launched with a preview weekend that began Saturday, Sept. 5, alongside a new Daily Dose Coffee Bar. The Downtown San Mateo Association promoted the opening on its events calendar, with Saturday hours listed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Rise Woodfire owners Omid and Susan built the restaurant around wood-fired cooking. The dinner menu at the B Street location, near the Caltrain station, features wood-fired pizza, rotisserie chicken slow-roasted over a wood-burning spitfire, prime rib and signature dishes like a spicy Calabrese pizza and jalapeño cornbread, according to the restaurant's website.
The DSMA event listing described the launch as offering "an entirely new brunch menu alongside the new Daily Dose Coffee Bar." Rise Woodfire said the opening is meant to give residents another reason to spend weekends downtown. On its Facebook page, the restaurant called the program a "Weekend Brunch experience."
Specific brunch dishes and prices have not been announced.
Rise Woodfire's website lists ongoing brunch hours as Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. No regular start date beyond the preview weekend has been confirmed.
Rise Woodfire was named a "Best of San Mateo Area 2026" winner, according to the DSMA's June 2026 community newsletter. The restaurant also operates a location in Santa Clara and a Rise Pizzeria in Burlingame.
The San Mateo location is open daily, with Friday and Saturday service until 10 p.m. and other days until 9 p.m. Reservations and details are available at risewoodfire.com or by calling (650) 484-4337.
